UERJ Geophysical Society Student Chapter

SEG was founded in 1930 with the mission of promoting geophysical science and an education around applied geophysics. Mission made to promote specialized practice and ethics of the geophysics of exploration and development of natural resources, the characterization of the surface and the mitigation of the dangers to the earth.

 

Since then, the SEG has undergone several changes. One of them, in 1948, was the creation of the Student Chapter, a student society with the mission of fostering geophysical and geoscientific dissemination with academy members, SEG members, geophysicists, businesses, community and other interest groups, non-profit. SEG currently supports more than 27,000 members in more than 128 countries.

 

The UERJ Student Chapter was founded in 2015 by undergraduate students in Geology to foster an area of ​​little interest to geologists: Geophysics. Our role is to intermediate relations between entities, companies and students so that together we can grow and qualify, both professionally and academically.
